Joshua

There are a number of very good commentaries on Joshua, though I am not sure which one I would recommend as the best of the lot. Butler‘s work is the most detailed analysis of the book from a broadly evangelical perspective, while Nelson is the top critical work (Boling and Soggins are also good critical commentaries, though both are dated). On a more popular front, Hamlin‘s third-world perspective is challenging, while Creach offers a good overall interpretation. More conservative readers will appreciate Harris, Hawk, and especially Howard.
