Judges

Judges is perhaps the darkest book in the Bible. The unity and faithfulness seen at the end of the book of Joshua is disintegrates in a downward spiral until at the end of Judges you have neither unity nor faithfulness. McCann‘s volume is exceptional among many good commentaries. Schneider‘s work is an excellent literary analysis, while Hamlin is theologically sensitive. Soggin, Lindars, and (to a lessor extent) Boling are all good critical commentaries.
