1& 2 Chronicles

JaphetThere has been a resurgence of scholarly interest in Chronicles, which is evident in the number of commentaries recently published on this oft-neglected book. That being said, Japhet‘s volume is still the best commentary available. Knoppers is second to none in terms of text-critical analysis of Chronicles, Johnstone offers a compelling analysis for scholars, while the WBC volumes by Braun and Dillard are perhaps the best from an evangelical perspective. De Vries is quite insightful in his analysis. Despite the limitations of its series, Williamson is invaluable. From a popular perspective Hill, Hooker, Selman, and Tuell are all very good, though I would recommend McKenzie.
