Scholars will greatly benefit from the thorough treatments on Joel offered by Barton and Crenshaw; Wolff is also valuable, though somewhat dated. Allen‘s commentary is a good choice for pastors, as are Limburg and Stuart. On a more popular level Achtemeier is difficult to beat, though I still like Cragie.
